Do you have a passion for ensuring people with learning disabilities live fulfilled lives? Do you want to help lead a community that values people for who they are and what they can do?

Company Overview

L'Arche Ipswich provides outstanding care and support to people living in a 'shared living' setting, across 3 houses in Ipswich, Suffolk. It is a community of 40 people with and without learning disabilities, where people with learning disabilities can live independent, yet connected lives. The majority of assistants supporting these individuals live in the same community house. The Ipswich community is part of L'Arche UK which consists of 11 communities across England, Scotland and Wales. Each Community celebrates people with learning disability and fosters circles of support around them, focusing on building relationships and creating a culture of belonging.

What we are looking for in our Team Leaders:

We are looking for experienced individuals who can lead and motivate a small team of support assistants to build a sense of community, encouraging each person in the house - with or without learning disabilities - to have a voice, share their views, have choice, and feel at home.

Preferably qualified to at least NVQ/QCF Level 3 in care, together with demonstrable experience of caring for and supporting adults with learning disabilities, you will also have experience of supervising and leading assistants in a care setting.

What the role involves:

Team Leaders are responsible for the smooth and safe running of their house including managing and creating the monthly rotas, updating and managing care plans, supporting and supervising assistants including inducting new team members, as well as overseeing reporting such as medication records and health and safety checks.

Working with the Care Coordinator, the Team Leader will ensure that we provide high quality, person-centred care and support; supporting practical, social and spiritual needs, leading the service delivery in the house in line with L'Arche's values and standards, and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].

Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details.
