Role: School Finance Assistant (Supply)
Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a School Finance Assistant on behalf of Luton Borough Council.
About the Role
To undertake a range of secretarial and financial duties to ensure that a comprehensive support service is provided to a primary school in Luton. Must have a DBS on the updated system.
Provide a secretarial support service to the Headteacher, including typing/word processing a wide range of documents. On the Headteacher's behalf take phone messages, make diary appointments and arrangements for visitors.
Maintain the schools computerised financial information system and monitor the schools budget and accounts, this includes:
· the recording of all school fund and school capitation expenditure,
· the processing of orders and invoices,
· the preparation of balance sheets,
· the provision of financial reports on a regular and adhoc basis,
· bringing any anomalies or deviations from budget to the Headteacher's prompt attention.
Assist in the development of new technology and systems, taking responsibility for the training and development of others in their application.
Ensure that the collection of monies within the school is performed in accordance with agreed procedures and that all necessary checks are made and records kept and verified. Give information and advice on financial matters to school staff as required.
Ensure that all statistical and other information required by the school, the LEA, DfES and others is provided accurately and to timescale e.g. PLASC, pupil transfers, etc.
Maintain all necessary record keeping systems and computerised management information systems ensuring that these are accurate and up to date at all times, producing statutory returns, data and reports, and analysing these as required.
To assist with the school's recruitment, selection and appointment process in collaboration with the HR Administrator if the need arises.
Ensure that a full and responsive support service is available to all staff, including photocopying, printing, postal duties, filing etc. and in the absence of the designated First-aider, provide first aid care of pupils, keeping all necessary records and making arrangements for parents/carers to take children home/hospital as appropriate.
Any other duties reasonably directed by the Headteacher.
