My client based in Croydon, Surrey is an expanding, third generation family business that was established in 1953. With over 65,000 sq. ft of modern production and warehouse space, they specialise in manufacturing food grade packaging from green materials with a strong emphasis on customer service and customer satisfaction.
The Role
Your role will involve working as part of the operations team on the production line. The role is very hands on and will require a mechanically minded individual with a particular attention to detail.
You will handle any mechanical faults as they arise, addressing them quickly and ensuring little downtime.
However, you will also be required to complete reactive, or planned maintenance, including fault finding, assisting with smooth changeovers, and working on process and system improvement projects across the lines.
The machines are relatively unusual in the industry and the business will not expect you to have worked on them before, so there will be a lot of learning to be done, however, full and comprehensive training is provided.
The ideal candidate will have a machine technician background from a manufacturing environment - packaging experience would be a plus. You should also be a Team player with keen eye for detail.
The industry is not that important, as long as it is fast moving and requires you to be hands on fixing, improving and analysing the line. You will also harbor a desire to work for a stable company with a strong family feel.
Skills required
Someone who has run and operated a Digistar Window Patching machine would be beneficial
Experience of working the following packaging, carton and tray forming machines will also be useful:
Bobst, Geitz, Heiber, Jagenberg, Kohmann, Omega, Schroeder, Signature and a Vega machine.
