A rapidly expanding FMCG company in Greater Manchester are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineering Manager to build and develop their in-house maintenance function.

This opportunity will involve creating a maintenance function from scratch and transitioning engineering responsibilities internally from existing external maintenance contractors. This will involve recruiting a small team of engineers, developing a robust PPM schedule and engineering stores area, improving current reliability and equipment downtime and having full technical responsibility for site engineering activities.

Key tasks include:

* Build and develop the Site Asset Care Strategy including the selection of a CMMS system

* Own the site Engineering Budget covering all machinery, equipment and facilities

* Play a key role in the deployment of CAPEX projects over the next 3-5 years

* Work closely with production to ensure machine availability can meet customer demand

To be considered candidates will need to have previous maintenance engineering experience within a relatable manufacturing sector (FMCG, Chemical, Pharmaceutical) and have some level of previous leadership. A formal technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is required (HNC/HND/NVQ), 17th or 18th Edition is also highly desirable. Any experience implementing maintenance systems from scratch (PPM/CMMS) would be highly beneficial.

The position is based Monday to Friday on site with a 35 hour week. As well as a competitive salary the position comes with 24 days holiday, defined pension scheme and health insurance.
