Senior Accountant

Reed are seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join our fantastic public sector client until June 2022 paying £24 per hour. This will be a remote role with the potential to work in the office if required.

The Key Accountabilities of this role will be to:

• Deliver corporate financial requirements in line with internal and external regulations and timescales
• Play a key role in the co-ordination of the financial forecast reporting
• To assist in the monitoring and recording of the service teams output against performance targets and to take any corrective action as required.
• Provide interpretation, advice and guidance on the operation and implementation of external regulations and statutory requirements and internal financial regulations
• To work alongside the Team Finance Manager with the Director of Resources to support the corporate budget setting process and Medium Term Financial Strategy.

Key Skills and Experience required for this role:

• Fully Qualified Accountant
• Technical knowledge of producing public or private sector accounting
• Previous experience working in a public sector environment
• Experience in managing teams
• Experience of dealing with internal and external auditors on financial and other issues
• Ability to compile concise, accurate and contextually sound reports for a variety of stakeholders.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint (or equivalent).
