SRM are currently partnering with a well-established business in Essex. We are keen to speak with strong ACA qualified Finance Managers who are available at short notice. This is a maternity leave cover role for 12 months and offers hybrid working, 2 days in the office and 3 WFH.

The Finance Manager will be instrumental in the running of the finance team. The Finance Manager will take full ownership on all aspects of financial control and reporting. You will assist the Financial Controller and Finance Director in making key decisions that will shape the companies overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the financial and management reporting process
  • Take a leading role in the review and control of the integrity of financial reporting
  • Manage a team of c5 finance professionals, who are both qualified or studying towards their qualification. This includes reviewing the team's outputs and providing detailed feedback. Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.
  • Assist with the 5 year forecast where necessary, ensuring that submissions are aligned to strategy
  • Promoting and strengthening process and controls by identifying and executing projects on process improvements.
  • Ownership of the weekly/monthly cashflow forecast.
  • Providing finance support to the Senior stakeholders to identify and define information required to improve reporting and understanding of management information.
  • Liaise with fellow finance teams to ensure consistent accounting policies and principles are being applied in the preparation of financial information.
  • Take a leading role in IT improvement initiatives.
  • Financial modelling to support business decisions.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA with a Big 4 background or otherwise) with a minimum of 4 years PQE.
  • Strong technical experience with a good understanding of IFRS.
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to express financial results articulately at multiple levels.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with Excel at an advanced level.
