Assistant Accountant

Orka Financial is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant, based in Reading. You will be part of a successful finance team supporting the Group Accountant being part of a growing business.

The Assistant Accountant position would suit a progressive candidate who is currently studying AAT/ACCA/CIMA and has experience working within a fast paced accounts environment.

Responsibilities

• Processing daily cheque runs
• Updating SAP in accordance with the cheque run figures
• Banking recovery & non-recovery claim related cheques and updating SAP
• Completion and submission of monthly VAT returns
• Ensuring that all cheques are processed in a timely manner
• Running inter company balance reports
• Month end reporting
• Running payments and receipts reports
• Weekly reconciliation of cash-book to bank statements
• Uploading payments and claims onto SAP

Candidate profile

• Studying towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience working within an accounts environment
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Excel intermediate level - pivot tables, V-look ups,
