We are currently recruiting for a talented Team Leader to join our first class, Claims Disputed department, in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the work they do, the service they provide and getting the best results for their clients.

The purpose of the Team Leader is to manage the progression of cases with the Small Claims Track in a timely and pro-active manner. This role will strive to lead, inspire, manage risk and motivate their team into providing the best and efficient service available for clients.

Responsibilities to include:
  • Deliver the financial performance and KPIs for the team. Ensure that the progress of the team against deliverables is monitored regularly and any concerns are managed proactively.
  • Proactively manage progression of case stages within specified SLA. Oversee the communication with clients where required, via the online portal and in some cases via telephone/email to obtain and provide relevant information.
  • Manage Legal Advisors to meet specified average handling times by case stage including monitoring their progress against KPIs. Oversee the valuation of medical reports and instruction of further medical experts as per the whiplash matrix and valuing other injuries.
  • Manage Liability Admitted & Disputed process (as appropriate), reviewing the evidence presented by both parties and assessing the prospects of success and advising the client on any split liability offers.
  • Ensure team are proactively managing their caseload and any complications within their caseload is managed immediately.
  • Conduct and document one to one meetings with team member's regarding case management and performance, identify training needs and report any issues to the Operations Manager. This also includes supporting the recruitment and onboarding process, providing guidance, and ensuring appropriate communication and engagement with the team.
  • Is aware of the risk profile to area of business and works to minimise exposure and ensure team's compliance with the risk objectives and directives set out by the business.
  • Collating together details of the client's losses and presenting in a Schedule of Loss ready for submission to the third-party insurer via the new OIC Portal.
  • Maintain accurate file and system estimates in line with Company best practice and comply with Lexcel and/or client service standards, client care and protocols.
  • Effectively assess client credibility and continuously identify improvements to the claims process and bring these to the attention of the Team Leader. Review denials of liability and progress the cases
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of drafting of legal documents court documents, preparing schedules & creating files
  • Arrange representation at any Court hearings and ensure that the representative is fully briefed ahead of the hearing

About you:

Experience of working within a compliance/audit role or strong knowledge of PI case management is a requirement.
  • In depth knowledge of the area of law and technical expertise
  • Previous team leading or supervising files experience needed
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of regulatory framework, in particular the SRA Code of Conduct
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the business
  • Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
