Exciting Trainee Purchase Ledger Assistant opportunity in Chelmsford - No Experience Required - AAT Studiers considered

Our client is a multi-academy trust and as part of their exciting growth plan they have a new Trainee Purchase Ledger position were you will provide financial support to the schools within the Trust. The role will be worked on a rotational basis, so you can develop in different areas and gain a broader accounts knowledge.

  • Complete and process orders and requisitions
  • Raise new supplier accounts
  • Assist with queries, as and when required by telephone and e-mail
  • Verify delivery of goods and enter GRN's into the systems
  • Enter/raise invoices
  • Prepare invoices for payment - ensure delivery notes and invoices match
  • Check suppliers' statements, as and when received
  • Process Supplier refunds
  • Run Aged Creditors Report weekly and monitor disputed invoices
  • Monitor and action enquiries and instructions made via designated finance mailboxes
  • Identify and liaise with suppliers
  • Enter income/expenditure onto relevant systems, as appropriate
  • Submit and process staff expenses payments
  • Ad hoc roles within the team

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Accounts experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good numeracy skills and ability to undertake basic calculations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and time manage tasks
  • IT literate, good knowledge of MS, Excel, and Word

  • Permanent full-time position - 8:00am to 4:00pm
