Pertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the Corporate Finance Team in their Gateway, Aylesbury office (HP19 area). Working alongside the Expert Finance Systems Lead Manager you will play an important role in implementing the Assurance Pack for General Ledger, co-ordinating and performing timely and accurate Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and provide advice to other Finance teams for implementing robust balance sheet and feeder systems reconciliation processes.
About the role
As a Financial Accountant you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
Set up various registers for the Assurance Pack and Co-ordinate timely responses.
Maintain and administer SharePoint area of Assurance Pack.
Co-ordinate timely reconciliation of balance sheet codes and take appropriate actions to resolve any identified issues.
Provide advice and support to service finance in implementing robust processes and working papers for balance sheet and feeder systems reconciliations.
Set-up a rolling programme of review and challenge of reconciliations performed by the other Finance teams.
Assist and support the programme of implementing Internal Audit recommendations.
Undertake such other duties as may be appropriate to the post.This is a temporary position until 31/07/2022, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is negotiable depending on experience, and you will be working full time, 37 hours per week (part time applications will also be considered). Buckinghamshire Council are currently working on a hybrid basis where you will work remotely for 3-4 days per week and in the office 1-2 days per week.
The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP19 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40
The ideal applicant will have experience of working in or running a finance department.
You are able to communicate finance matters in a clear and concise manner to a range of stakeholders.
You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and encourage staff, colleagues and stakeholders.
