This is a lovely opportunity for a Temporary Finance and Payroll Officer to start a new assignment in a school in south Oxford, to provide an efficient and effective financial service to the school with accurate attention to detail and initiative to identify and solve problems.

Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis. The role will start immediately, so sadly candidates with a lengthy notice period cannot be considered.

This is also a full-time role so you must be immediately available to work a full working week.

Temporary Finance & Payroll Officer Responsibilities

The Temporary Finance and Payroll Officer some of your duties will include:

Reviewing all transactions and Inputting and checking payroll data for the school in an accurate and timely fashion
Ensuring that necessary corrections to the payroll are made
Raising sales invoices, reconciling charge card statements and oversee purchase order processing
Prepare supplier statement reconciliations as required, and ensure school trips are properly budgeted for, reconciled and closed
Liaise with suppliers for complex queries
Ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for on PSF
Under supervision, provide budget holders with financial information
Prepare for internal and external audit visits
Identify areas for improvement
Temporary Finance & Payroll Officer Experience

The successful candidate will:

Have experience of working in a finance team
Have experience of working with accounting software
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
Be able to work independently with confidence with IT, and with a wide range of people, whilst maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Experience of line management experience, payroll experience, working in an education setting and meeting organisation/preparing agendas and minutes experience is desirable though not essential.
