Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working with a reputable business based in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join their friendly, close-knit team, on a full time permanent basis and offers hybrid working; 2 days working from home!

This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable Finance Assistant to join a fun, friendly team to provide extensive support across the finance function. They want someone who is ambitious and passionate about wanting to secure a career in accounts and full study support can be given if required. You will be working closely with the Financial Controller who will give you full training and support to be successful in your position; This role offers great variety and gives you full exposure across accounts with plenty of progression opportunities making this a standout opportunity for the right person.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Cash flow forecasting
* Bank reconciliations
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Control account reconciliations
* Credit Control (2 days a week)
* Fixed asset register ownership and maintenance
* Depreciation calculations and posting to ledgers
* Accruals calculations and postings
* Prepayment calculations and postings
* Monthly stock journal
* Managing payroll expectations - comms, bonus, expenses
* Pension obligations ensuring compliance
* Wider staff KPI management, implementation and ongoing review, ensuring payments are made as appropriate in line with payroll
* VAT monthly submission
* Ledger close down once satisfied complete
* Oversee CIS reporting
* HMRC commitments and timely payments
* Financial planning for tax and asset purchases
* Ensure adequate and robust financial controls are in place and maintained
* Company secretarial duties

Skills required:

* At least 2 years' experience within an all round Accounts Assistant Role
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Packages (Excel)
* Self-motivated & target-focused
* Strong communication skills (verbally and written)
* Studying towards AAT qualification (desirable)
