Teaching Assistant position Birmingham - Full time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-15:30pm, due to start immediatly up until the end of the academic year.

Your role will be to support and encourage students to develop independence skills as well as providing a supportive and positive environment for learning.

You will be working within a multi-campus, day special school for children aged 11 - 19. The school welcomes pupils from a wide geographical area and support a comprehensive range of special educational needs including moderate (MLD), severe (SLD) and profound (PMLD) and complex learning difficulties (CLDD) as well as pupils on the Autism spectrum.

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint highly motivated and committed Independence Support Workers to join our expanding team on a permanent basis.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Resilience, teamwork and flexibility are all key personal quality for the role as is the ability to communicate effectively using a range of tools.

Independence Support Workers play a key role supporting students with their learning, therefore applicants will need to hold a range of GCSE`s in English and Communications Skills or equivalent as a minimum. Due to the needs of the children it is essential that you have prior experience working with children or have transferable skills and experience for the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
