SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Payroll and Finance Assistant to join a fantastic client of ours based in Mansfield on a full time permanent basis. As the Payroll and Finance Assistant you will also assist the Accounts function when needed and also the Credit Controller by checking Customer credit ratings, agreeing new customer terms and setting new customs up within the system.

Role Overview

  1. To process all matters payroll within the group.
  2. To assist with the day-to-day processes within Sales Ledger.


Main duties will include:

  • Processing the monthly payroll for hourly and salary employees within the group on Sage 50 Payroll
  • Distribute and gather weekly timesheets from branch resource departments
  • Maintain existing databases of information, ensure that updates are entered regularly to provide a current picture at all times
  • Submit monthly pension and FPS
  • Respond to requests for information or wage queries
  • When required, provide support to the Accounts team to generate accurate invoices: confirming rates, invoice date, order requirements and final charges
  • Holiday Forms
  • General assistance with Sales ledger
  • Checking customer credit ratings with external credit rating agencies
  • Agreeing new customer terms and setting up customers within the system
  • Posting and allocating daily receipts to accounting system
  • Daily invoice run and uploading invoices to Invoice Discount facility
  • Providing POD's to customers and internal stakeholders
  • TMS maintenance
  • Taking Credit / Debit card payments


Required Experience and Knowledge

  • Previous experience of working in a Finance/Payroll Department
  • Previous experience of running a payroll start to finih
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve issues and disputes in a timely fashion


Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll candidate who is looking for a new and exciting challenge. The successful candidate will not be phased by high volumes, you will have good knowledge of Excel and Sage Payroll.
