We have an exciting opportunity for a legal costs assistant within our growing personal injury department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most recognised firms of solicitors in Shropshire/Herefordshire and North Wales; well known for offering a high quality service.

This role would suit someone who has ideally worked in a high pressured legal, or professional services, environment and who is highly numerate with a high attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to learn and develop in a role. It would suit someone who wants to work in a friendly and supportive environment, at a firm which is modern progressive and forwarding thinking.

The role has a key focus on providing assistance to three lawyers within the department and will have the support of our internal costs lawyer. It is an important link between the personal injury team and the costs department, at the transition point between settling damages and recovering costs.

The right person for this role will ideally have an understanding of working practices within a personal injury or clinical negligence department. They will have experience of costs budgeting and will understand the difference between recovery of damages and costs. You will have excellent administration skills and the role will suit someone who is confident with numbers and working with Excel.

You will have had previous experience working with financial information or perhaps some accountancy experience, you must be comfortable in the use of working with statistics and numbers to produce reports along with creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to collate and analyse financial information using formulas.
