Agenda for Change Band 8A (£50,965 to £55,016 per annum)

Post reference: 83945

As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland's mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialist support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.

Programme Management Services (PgMS) are part of National Services Scotland. We are one of the fastest growing centres of excellence in transformational change and programme management in the UK. PgMS is a strategic partner for NHS Scotland's health and social care.

We have over 240 staff across locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee covering disciplines including programme and project management, user design, Lean and business analysis. Our staff bring extensive experience in the design and delivery of complex national programmes and a proven track record in large-scale transformational change. Our experience includes a diverse range of programmes including the launch of new national health bodies, transformation of patient and diagnostic services across Scotland to the successful delivery of multi-million pound capital construction programmes.

Recently our work has seen us design services to make them more responsive to patient needs, lead strategic programmes that will underpin transformative healthcare delivery over the next 20 years as well as harness opportunities and innovations that emerged during the pandemic.

We are proud to be part of the NHS driving change in the NHS.

Do you want to join our growing team and use your well-developed programme management skills to help support the transformation of the NHS in Scotland?

We are looking for individuals who have proven experience of programme and/or PMO management, working with a range of methodologies and approaches to deliver challenging programmes to time and within scope. You will be confident and self-motivated with a flexible and resilient approach to working on challenging, high profile, national programmes. You will also have experience of applying continuous improvement which you bring to all aspects of the role.

Experienced in working with senior stakeholders and leading multi-disciplinary teams you are able to consistently deliver complex programme outcomes and benefits for our clients. Your experience of leading and managing staff will support and develop teams working across a number of projects. Experience of working in Agile/Service Design environments would be advantageous.

Whilst all staff will have a base hub, remote working will be in place initially whilst restrictions are in place by the Scottish Government.

Please note there are full time and part time positions available.

Closing date for completed applications is Sunday 23 January 2022.

As a norm, all candidates will start on the bottom of the pay band. In exceptional circumstances, consideration may be given to a salary offer above the minimum of the pay band to recognise relevant experience.

The interview process will be a two-stage process with a technical assessment followed by a panel interview for applicants who pass the technical assessment.

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres, discounted leisure, and financial and shopping benefits.

Please note that the majority of correspondence is sent by e-mail only, so please check your e-mail regularly (including junk folders).

NHS National Services Scotland is an equal opportunities employer and as committed participant in the disability confident scheme, guarantees to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for our vacancies.
