Workshop Manager role near St Albans, requires the successful candidate to be technically minded and commercially aware of the plant hire and construction sectors. You will be joining an independent and proactive business that supply a wide range of plant machinery to some of the biggest construction sites and civil engineering projects in the UK.

Responsibilities of the Workshop Manager:

As the workshop manager, you will continuously improve standards and liaise with colleagues to optimise efficiency and identify new business opportunities
Coordinate services and maintenance of plant, providing technical support to customers.
Negotiate with suppliers.
Work closely with all engineers and the hire desk.
Providing suggestions of how processes can be changed and made more effective.
Hold regular reviews with all staff.
Submit KPI's working towards and achieving P+L's.
Oversee correct use of PPE equipment and health and safety practises.
Ensure full adherence to Health and Safety matters and quality processes.
Requirements of the Workshop Manager:

PC literate
Fully conversant with transport legislation
Experience in managing equipment availability, stock/parts, budget control, warranty, damages, transport and service compliance.
Excellent communication skills
Have a proven plant hire and management background.
You will also have a mechanical background and technical knowledge of plant machinery such as excavators, dumpers or diggers.
Previous experience working as a depot manager, service manager, assistant manager, or service supervisor.
Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and prioritise tasks
A confident and flexible attitude
Full UK Driving licence
Holding a CPC is desirable.
