4Recruitment Services are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to provide services to a children's charity who are based Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Our client will consider applicants who can work either part time or full time.


Develop and provide a high level systematic Psychology service using the model within the service area covered by the community/clinic/inpatient service, with responsibility for governance of psychological practice, treatment protocols and clinical supervision.
Manage the implementation of psychological interventions for children, parents, carers, families and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis. In so doing, to show capacity to adjust and refine provisional hypotheses and psychological formulations, drawing on a range of different explanatory models, and a range of relevant theories and frameworks (for example developmental, attachment, trauma, cognitive-behavioural, systemic).
Provide highly specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, based upon the appropriate information and data from a variety of sources and to utilise this information to communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner in both written and verbal form.
Work with the Locality Services Manager to develop and retain existing or new business opportunities and to contribute to and help put into practice new or revised policies that improve the quality of the service.
Receive regular clinical supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and management supervision. To keep abreast of the latest developments in the profession and consider, discuss with management the relevance to the services provided.
Provide clinical and professional supervision of practitioners in the team to deliver the outcomes as set out in the service agreement, in terms of outcomes for children and young people.
Provide training, support and resources to the team and social care teams on a range of psychological models, theories and interventions to ensure high quality and effective psychological interventions in the team and the wider looked after children services.
Create clinical assessments, evaluations and reports for the service to Action for Children and Commissioners to measure the impact and to intervening in complex systems around the young people to improve systems and processes.
Carry a complex caseload of direct work with young people and families with complex mental health needs.

Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
Registered as a qualified Practitioner Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with the UK Health Care Professions Council
Experience of working with children in a clinical setting and in the community and a clinically orientated multi-disciplinary and multi-agency mental health setting. Through this experience to apply knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological assessments and interventions, to include complex trauma, parenting interventions and systemic models
Experience of highly specialist risk and psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings: inpatient, residential and community.
Experience of supervising clinical staff and assistants, including conducting group work
Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health issues, child and adult protection, and equalities
An effective oral and written communicator with children, team members, parent/carers and other professionals, also displaying excellent interpersonal and listening skill with a high degree of emotional intelligence
