Our Client is the biggest tourist attraction in the centre of Salisbury. This is an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join their team!

*12 Month Contract*

Overall purpose:

To support the generation of income through developing, maintaining, implementing and monitoring the marketing strategy.

Marketing;
  • Creating and managing long and short term consumer and B2B marketing strategies across all communication channels, setting, allocating and monitoring budgets as appropriate
  • In liaison with the PR/Travel Trade Manager, devise and manage B2B marketing strategies to travel related businesses.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of publications and print and for writing and commissioning copy as necessary.
  • Ensure the effective use of marketing tactics including advertising, listings, direct mail and print distribution.
  • Manage the creation and display of effective directional and interesting interpretive print and signage in collaboration with colleagues, to help provide an excellent visitor experience.
  • Manage and expand marketing databases, implement data protection procedures and contribute to improving data capture and information management.
  • Provide high quality marketing advice and information to colleagues based on experience, market research and the collection, analysis and interpretation of data from both internal and external sources
  • Keep informed of developments in the field of marketing in the not for profit, tourism and heritage sectors

Lead on digital strategy & acivity including:
  • Website management, maintenance, development, SEO, content planning and engagement within the organization
  • Using analytics and other tools to help understand content efficiency and plan future content.
  • Management and evaluation of social media strategy and presence across multiple platforms and consider how to drive income from social channels
  • Integration with online event ticketing system
  • Re-development of intranet in support of good communications within the organization.

Management;
  1. Maintain a culture that attracts, retains and motivates high quality staff and volunteers.
  2. Line manage the Marketing Officer: recruiting, training, appraising, supervising, supporting and developing as appropriate.
  3. Plan the resources required for marketing activity and recruiting and managing volunteers to support the Marketing Officer when necessary.
  4. Commission, direct and manage sub-contractors and consultants as necessary.
  5. Manage key external relationships e.g. with Visit Wiltshire, other tourism partnerships, Salisbury BID - advising on memberships and subscriptions and negotiating where required.
  6. Develop and foster partnerships and ensure the best possible exposure
  7. Support the Travel Trade/PR Manager with VIP and fam. visits, travel trade events and or press calls.

Marketing Manager Person Specification - personal qualities, experience, knowledge;

Essential:
  • Marketing qualification with a minimum of four years' management experience, ideally in a B2C context
  • Experience of creating, managing and monitoring marketing strategy and reporting on KPI's from various sources
  • Experience of managing a website using a CMS, email marketing, databases, multiple social media accounts
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data and using it to inform strategy
  • An eye for detail and good design skills, preferably Indesign.
  • Ability to work to tight time scales and produce high quality work
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proactive, able to create and make the most of opportunities
  • Able to work collaboratively and consider impact across all areas of the organisation.
  • Strong digital experience especially in the use of metrics to understand success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to write well and quickly.
  • Empathy with the values, mission and objectives

The ideal candiadate will have:
