Overview

2Fawcett are recruiting for an Engineering Manager, to join a company with Sites over Heanor, Doncaster, Alfreton & Long Eaton. As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for safely leading the engineering team to maximise productivity through proactive maintenance, reducing downtime and improving machine efficiency.

The Role & Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager
  • Creating and developing proactive maintenance schedules
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (Engineers, Technicians etc)
  • Direct line manager for the maintenance team, including performance management and hiring.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers
  • Ensuring department works within the maintenance budgets
  • Forecast, Monitor and control equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Monitor site systems and equipment to ensure functionality and safe operations
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities
  • Provide reports where necessary (breakdown and investigation)
  • Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
  • Ensuring the facilities satisfy all industry regulations
  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with
  • Look for new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity and cut costs
  • Management of the CMMS

Requirements of the Engineering Manager
  • 5+ years' experience in maintenance management role
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff members
