Our market leading Insurance client is continuing to grow their Underwriting function and are now recruiting for an experienced Underwriter to support that growth.
You will be making pricing recommendations and preparing contract reviews as well as supporting in the relationship with the Capacity Providers for the provision of pricing and all general underwriting matters.

As Assistant Underwriter your main responsibilities will include:
Review Underwriting information and making a recommendation for terms Providing guidance to the Commercial team and assisting in the calculation of premium terms where pricing models are not available Referral of information to Underwriters where they fall outside the terms of the binder Review of Underwriting proposal templates and scorecards to ensure their suitability Assisting in the production and refresh of pricing models as required Working on the development of internal systems to achieve a fully automated renewal system Regular meetings with Commercial Team to identify any updates on Referrals/Quotes Attendance on regular Conference calls with Underwriters Preparing agenda and collation of material for attendance at Underwriting Review Meetings Obtaining sign-off from Underwriters over variations to template wording which impact exposure Assisting with external Underwriting audits and providing information and documentationTo be a successful Assistant Underwriter you will demonstrate:
Good understanding of the full Underwriting process and cycle Experience from an Insurer, MGA or working on an in-house Binder Excellent excel and strong analytical skills Confident decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication Proven numeracy and statistical skills
