An exciting position has become available for a full-time Senior Bookkeeper based in South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford. The successful candidate will earn £28,000- £32,000 pro rata. This is a 6 month fixed term contract. There is the possibility of this role switching to permanent after 6 months.
You will be based at the Head Office and there will be very occasional travel to client premises and trade exhibitions.
The role of the senior bookkeeper is to record all company spending, to maintain & develop all company financial records, including purchases, invoices and sales.
You will provide accurate and timely information for both internal and statutory reporting and provide detailed information on company outgoings for the purpose of filing accounts. You will work closely with the Head of Finance to produce accurate forecasts allowing senior management to have a clear overview on cash flow, ensuring that all debtor and creditor activity is timely, accurate and that no late payments or fines are incurred.
With the Head of Finance, you will develop long term strategy to improve financial reputation and supplier credibility. You will support the Head of Finance in overseeing the financial health of the company, suggesting ways to improve financial performance and control of the company.

Ability to deal with customers, suppliers & internal stakeholders.
At ease explaining complex financial matters.
People Management Experience.
Knowledge of sage and other accounting packages.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs.
Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounts database.
Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances.
Completing VAT returns.
Identifying and recording any inconsistencies to help Head of Finance reconcile differences.
Support Head of Finance with more complex administrative duties and queries.
Manage a small team of assistants.
The ability and willingness to work across other departments dictated by the needs of the business may be required.
