An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Research and Development Manager, for up to 3 months in the first instance.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar role in a clinical research setting. The role will be remunerated under the NHSI Agency Caps at Band 8a.
Key responsibilities will include:
Operational management responsibility for the delivery of services within the research department; Lead the team to set up, manage and monitor research studies and deliver training across the organisation; Ensure the timely set up of all hosted and sponsored research studies, meeting national metrics and benchmarks; Lead the research response to operational capacity and performance standards; Develop systems to ensure the regulatory compliance of Trust-wide research activity; Manage the development of the Quality Management System; Act as sponsor representative and signatory for the Trust; Effectively manage all research incidents and safety concerns. The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in a similar role within a clinical research environment; Proven operational management and line management experience; Excellent working knowledge of the UK clinical trials regulations; Experience of developing studies for sponsor review; Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
