International FMCG

Packaging Category Buyer - This role is within the Global Beverages GB Procurement team of an International FMCG, and will report into the EMEA Packaging Category Manager. This is an exciting role that supports the procurement of packaging materials for the GB manufacturing site and is a key part of the Global Procurement function. Competitive base salary plus bonus, and generious benefits package.

Packaging Category Buyer - The successful Packaging Category Buyer will be responsible for managing the transactional activities of the Procurement function and day to day responsibilities will include;

Placing orders and Schedule Agreements with suppliers in line with agreed economic ordering parameters, and to work with that the Planning Department to ensure effective call-off of materials, and provide effective remedy of any supply issues.
Ensuring that orders are processed in line with the packaging budget and purchasing procedure, within agreed financial authorities and ensuring delivery meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Stock and inventory management, price and systems maintenance, Garuda and SAP systems maintenance for Procurement.
Monthly reporting of supplier performance and stock value held with suppliers. Monthly reporting for the supplier development programme.
Working with Procurement Colleagues to identifying and minimise business risk with the supply chain.
Liaising with the PER team and suppliers to facilitate the introduction of new products or product change.
Packaging Category Buyer - to be great at this job you will need;

A successful background in procurement with a good understanding of Category Management and Packaging in an FMCG environment (ideally food / beverages)
Good team-working and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment
You will have had some exposure to process engineering and transition management skills, and working towards (or want to be working towards) CIPS qualifications
Engaging, empathetic and a clear, confident and articulate communicator
Highly numerate with excellent IT & system skills (experienced in SAP) and strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse data
