Mechanical Fitter

The company is a specialist in design, manufacture and installation of special purpose machinery and access equipment for a variety of industries. Their multi sector experience includes the rail industry, timber engineering, hydraulic presses, access equipment and materials handling. A rapidly growing company that offers a unique service to cover the entire lifecycle of projects and product development.

They currently have an excellent job opportunity within their Production team for a Mechanical Fitter, a key role for business expansion and fulfilling current customer requirements. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of machinery and be involved in new machinery development.

The Role

You will be based within a small production team tasked with building core products, bespoke designs and new product development. The team works closely with our design, production and service engineers to ensure that the company's high-quality production standards are maintained and recommends improvements where necessary.

Key Role Responsibilities

* Fitting out the Company's core range of machinery products, including its Birch Press, Uniroll, Gantry Press, Splice Press and EMS Saw.

* Fitting out the Company's bespoke special purpose machinery. i.e., material handling systems, saw applications and hydraulic machinery.

* Supporting the production work area, including general housekeeping and work flow.

* Read and understand engineering assembly and sub assembly drawings.

* Follow manufacturing procedures and meet delivery deadlines.

The Person

* The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in a practical mechanical or production fitting environment building special purpose machinery or equipment.

* Excellent practical mechanical knowledge and understanding.

* Be fully conversant and experienced in the use of hand tools.

* Required to provide own set of basic hand tools.

* Self-starter, highly motivated, diligent and looking for continuous improvement

* Knowledge of basic machining and welding is essential.

* Hydraulic knowledge would desirable

* Basic electrical knowledge desirable.

* Any mechanical, hydraulic or electrical qualifications would also be advantageous.

Job Type: Full time.

Normal working hours: 40 hours per week. Mon-Thurs 7.00am-5.00pm, Friday 7.00am-11.30pm.

Job Location: Based just outside of Bridgnorth with an opportunity to travel and meet with clients throughout the UK
