Site Manager Based at the Outokumpu (SMACC) Sheffield - £35,000

Basic hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.00 - 17.00 but must be flexible.

25 Days Holiday + Stats

Death in Service 4 x salary

The salary package will depend upon experience + use of Company vehicle, phone and laptop.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has an electrical engineering background with an aptitude towards managing our interests on our customer sites.

This is no ordinary job, as the role will suit someone who is very hands on yet capable of managing the sites day-to-day activities.


Efficiently run the SMACC site in respects to the clients' interests.

Be customer focused and able to communicate at all levels of management.

Have experience of Industrial Electrical and Electronic equipment and have a good understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.

High temperature refractory knowledge (Steel Industry) will be an advantage

Take responsibility for operators - 4 Sprayers.

Site Responsibilities

Liaise with both our and Outokumpu site managers and personnel at all levels.

Attend site meetings.

Facilitate stock control and ordering of all materials.

Monitor the performance of all materials and products.

Assist Engineering with trials and test work.

File weekly reports and service sheets.

Compile monthly reports.

Identify new sales opportunities/potentials and work with Sales Manager to develop with customer.

Be able to repair and maintain a Tundish machine.

Be able to operate a Tundish machine

Be able to repair and maintain the Spray Machine

Stock takes on a weekly basis of all IFGL products

Monitoring of all IFGL products

Attend meetings at - Safety, Sales and Trials etc.

Daily housekeeping in and around the site cabin

Additional duties

Engineering Responsibility

Service and maintain all site machinery.

This will include but is not restricted to working on - Industrial Electrical (basic PLC knowledge would be an advantage) systems as well as Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.

Fault finding on breakdowns and performing remedial repair work.

Participate in the engineering team rota that provides engineering support on a 24/7 call out basis. This service is currently under review however, current cover frequency is 1 week in 3.

Health & Safety

Be able to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Safe Working Procedures (SWP's) and Risk Assessments.

Be able to update SOP's, SWP's and Risk Assessments.

Be able to work to the COSHH regulations and update the register.

Attend H & S meetings.

Training Requirements

Formal School Education

Formal Engineering Training

In house training by the Field Service Manager on all aspects of the job.

Product training by the Sales team.


National and International Travel could also be required
