The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be influencing DevOps team to build systems that are reliable, secure and efficient to run in production.
Your focus will be on continous improvement of our ability to monitor, alert and automate manual operational work. Your work will enable the Royal Society of Chemistry to maximise service delivery, high availability, performance optimisation and ensuring that services are efficient at accomplishing their duties, even as those duties scale and evolve.
As a Site reliability Engineer you will be eliminating operational burden through obsessive automation.
We are looking for:
• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Demonstrable experience in coding for IaC (Infrastructure as Code), particularly with desired state configuration, including Terraform, PowerShell or Python.
• Knowledge and experience of software security vulnerabilities and mitigation.
• Experience working with DevOps concepts, such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, configuration management, process automation.
• Experience with monitoring & observability tools (such as New Relic) to maximise service reliability
The Royal Society of Chemistry offers excellent benefits. The contractual base for this role is Cambridge, however we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will have the opportunity to work from a location other than this, as agreed with your line manager.
