Junior Data Engineer - Leeds - Up to £30K
SearchDATA are currently working with a leading Legal firm who are on a journey to improve the insight they get from the vast amounts of data that they have access too. They are looking to add to their data centric team which will leverage their historical data to provide the organization with better insights.
Working alongside different members of the data team (Data Scientist, Data Analysts) you will use your previous experience and knowledge to extract and transform data from several sources.
These data sources will be a in a variety of formats from SQL Server Databases to CSV, Excel, JSON and XML.
Some knowledge of scripting and data manipulation in python or .Net (c#) and SQL is required, with a willingness to develop your skills further.
This role will suit an individual who is passionate about learning new technologies, highly self-motivated and that takes ownership of a problem until it is resolved. if you are a recent graduate or at the start of your data career this is a great opportunity to join an organization that is dedicated to career support and development in order for you to continue to learn and grow.

The role will be based at our head office in Leeds initially, with a view of working from home 1-2 days a week upon successful completion of your probation period

Job Role requirements.
This role will be ideal for someone with the following skills:
A high attention to detail.
A Computer Science or equivalent degree
.Net (C#) or Python Programming Knowledge
Experience of querying data using T-SQL.
Drive to learn new tools & technologies.
It's a plus if you have the following skills or knowledge:
6-12 months experience in a similar role
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Exposure to creating data pipelines and transforming data.
Keen to learn more of how technology can benefit the legal industry
Has a passion for all things data.
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
Education and experience
Educated to bachelor's degree (2:1 minimum) or above in a Computer Science discipline
