Interim Care Home Manager - 4 months leading to a permanent position
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Care Home Manager to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) in our dual registered residential & nursing care home for elderly and EMI service users, in Ulverston, Cumbria. Swarthdale is a 43 bed care home situated in a quiet and peaceful area on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The home has recently been part refurbished to a high standard, has a good CQC rating and a good reputation within the local community. The Home works closely with all professional bodies to maintain high standards and provide quality care.
The successful candidate MUST have a Nursing qualification (RMN or RGN), be passionate about elderly care and want to make a real difference. You will ideally have NVQ 5 / Diploma Level 5 (or equivalent) and previous management /supervisory experience in a similar setting, a high level of personal integrity towards providing a high standard of care, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and an awareness of CQC regulations and standards.
Interim Care Home Manager main responsibilities are:
* overseeing the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of our home.
* undertaking the effective management and administration of our home, including managing agreed budgets, maintaining adequate staffing levels, facilitating staff training and development, managing all records, auditing and quality assurance.
* working with other professional colleagues to ensure the Service Users needs, best interests and preferences are identified and plans established to meet them.
* putting the needs and wellbeing of our residents first: enriching their lives and delivering outstanding customer care for them and their relatives
* leading and inspiring a our team of staff to provide outstanding, truly personalised care to our residents.
* adhere to company policy, CQC Standards and requirements under the Health & Social Care Act 2008
* Preserve effective communications through regular contact / meetings with clients, relatives, staff, company directors and any other concerned bodies
* Actively market the care home and promote a positive personal / professional profile within the local community, ensuring the good reputation of the care home at all times
