Role: Technical Manager

Responsible to: General Manager, Senior Management Team

Responsible for : All aspects of UK Technical Support for products supplied and distributed by AAUK (built-in domestic kitchen appliances)

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexible 8-5 / 9-6 shifts)

Salary: £30,000- £35,000 DOE- Company Pension, free parking

Location: Normanton, Wakefield

Overall Objective :

Venatu are pleased to be working with a manufacturing company and they are recruiting for an after-sales support operation for domestic appliances sold within the UK & Europe. The overall objective of the Technical / QA Manager is to monitor and analyse product failure rates and work with manufacturers to improve quality and therefore reduce service costs. Equally as important is the analysis of returns to reduce aftersales costs by suggesting manufacturing improvements to reduce returns.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyse failure rate data, create failure rate reports for factory QA Teams
Provide feedback to Group & non-Group manufacturers when necessary to help improve quality and reliability.
To assist with new product launches including preparation of new technical information such as drawings, manuals, parts list etc.
Prepare and analyse product returns reports. Working with Logistics Manager to improve returns rates, liaising with suppliers to suggest improvements to reduce damages.
Maintain technical information database and update systems as an when required.
Provide technical reports and feedback as and when required - limited site visits may be required to facilitate this duty.
Assist with incident follow up, attend forensic inspections & prepare reports
Support customers (retailers / distributors / engineers / end users / internal) with technical queries relating all AAUK supplied products.
Assist Team with advice and feedback relating to engineer repairs as required.
Assist with internal office projects as an when required
Attend meetings with internal & external clients as and when necessary.
Deal with adhoc assignments from time to time.
Play a part in the success of the business.Essential skills and experience

Analytical & thorough, attention to detail
Good knowledge of Microsoft products such as excel, pivot tables etc
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others at all levels.
Ability to problem solve
Ability to work on own initiative
Team player
