Payments Officer x2 (12 month FTC)

2X Payments officers are required to work on 12-month fixed-term contracts for an established bank.

Purpose of the role:

* Process various types of payment instructions for both internal and external customers in line with the role responsibilities.

* Communicate with correspondent banks and their intermediaries to ensure payments are completed.

* Work with the Payments Manager and Senior Payments Officer to manage workflow and meet regulation.

* Use banking knowledge to manage customer expectations.

* Complete reconciliations and confirmation checklists where required.

Role responsibilities:

To carry out some or all the following tasks as required:

* Credit clearing

* Salary and trader's credit distribution

* Direct debit and standing orders letter writing & checking

* Direct debit origination

* Sterling remittances

* Foreign remittances

* Foreign cheque collection

* Foreign outward payments

* CHAPS/SWIFT/Bankline processing

* CHAPS/SWIFT input / check / release
