We are recruiting for an Equity Release Advisor to join the Financial Services team at StepChange Debt Charity in Leeds. This is a key role responsible for guiding our clients through the equity release advice process in a manner that meets with client expectations as well as our own. Maintaining 'Competent Advisor Status' for equity release advice so our clients can fully trust and value our advice and recommendation.

What you will be doing

To provide telephone based, whole of market equity release advice in line with the StepChange Financial Solutions advice process; and to make individual recommendations as appropriate
To deliver the highest standards of compliant advice in line with all regulatory requirements while taking into account a client's needs, objectives, alternatives, finances, preferences and all other relevant circumstances
To co-ordinate with all relevant parties (clients, providers, solicitors, charity departments and any other required individuals or organisations) to ensure a smooth transition from application to completion
To take responsibility for your own personal development and maintain product and market knowledge via all available resources to ensure all Training and Competence standards are achieved
To ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are met or exceeded and to ensure that the FCA's principles of 'Treating Customers Fairly' are embedded in all activities to keep the client at the heart of what we do
To maintain accurate records in line with StepChange Financial Solution's policies, procedures and standards and all appropriate regulatory requirements
To process any new or ongoing applications received by the department in a prompt, efficient and accurate manner
To provide ongoing advice and support to all StepChange Financial Solutions clients and to undertake regular client reviews to ensure the ongoing suitability of any recommended equity release plan until completion
To develop and maintain strong relationships with all external business partners and all internal departments
What we want from you

Certificate in Regulated Mortgage Advice (CeMap / MAQ)
Certificate in Regulated Equity Release (CeRER)
Competent Status as a practicing Equity Release Advisor
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the equity release industry, including providers, products, competitors, solicitors and surveyors
Proven success in providing compliant equity release advice
Delivering advice over the telephone (desirable)
Ability to analyse client information and to make independent recommendations
