Grants Compliance Manager
About the role
We are looking for a London-based Grants Compliance Manager to join our growing Grants Management Team. ClientEarth's portfolio of funders is growing in size and complexity. This position is a great opportunity to take control over the handling and delivery of the compliance and risk requirements for institutional, statutory and philanthropic grants.
We are a legal and environmental charity that uses the power of the law to fight against climate change and to protect nature and the environment. Our Development Department is responsible for raising funds to enable the organisation to deliver its mission. Our Grants Team are responsible for securing and managing funding from trusts, foundations and institutional donors.
Main Duties
Support internal teams on due diligence, compliance checks, and risk assessments for new donors
Lead and coordinate funder audits and monitoring visits
Review individual grant agreements/contracts, and proactively identify compliance risks
Maintain a library of standard responses to grant applications concerning compliance
Conduct a gap analysis between donor requirements and ClientEarth's organisational policies and practices
Role requirements
Significant experience in reviewing grant agreements, performing risk assessments, and due diligence on donors
Significant experience in working with Trusts and Foundations on six or more figure grant agreements and related compliance requirements
Experience, in complex and global organisations, of building and consolidating cross-functional relationships within wider teams with stakeholders; and managing senior stakeholders
Significant experience in working with major statutory and institutional funders and related compliance requirements (including UK Government/FCDO, NORAD, European Commission) (desirable);
