Family Solicitor
Central Oxford HQ 1/2 times per week

High-End Private Client Law Practice
Team Size: 44
Clientele: Private Client / High Net Worth
Structure: Limited company. Part Employee Owned (1 of only 5 in the country)
Skills Sought: Superlative client care skills, proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude, positive, optimistic, hardworking, passion for business development, flair for building and nurturing relationships, a team player and ‘people person’.

The Family Solicitor Role:

You will play a key role in enabling “one of the very best family law firms in the Oxford area” (Legal 500) to continue to grow in Oxford, London and the Cotswolds and to fulfil the vision of:

+ Being recognised as the firm of choice for high net worth individuals across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
+ Contribute to our Advice For Life strategy for clients looking for high service and value
+ 75% of new work from referrals and existing clients

You will be accountable for:

+ Legal service Delivery
+ Client Care
+ Business Development
+ Mentoring and Training

Key Duties:

+ Surprising and delighting clients
+ Delivering your revenue number
+ Helping deliver the team’s revenue number
+ Ensuring service delivery is proactive rather than reactive
+ Active participation in team development and growth
+ Collaboratively working with other Hedges teams’ clients

About You:

You will:

+ Be a lawyer with at least 8 years’ PQE in high net worth financial remedy cases
+ Want to drive the growth of the business across Oxford, the Cotswolds and in and around London
+ Embrace modern ways of working and delivering legal services in an agile, modern environment
+ Want to use the latest technology to deliver world-class client service; at maximum profitability and lowest possible risk


The following demonstrable skills are required:

+ Significant legal experience and a high level of proven competency in family law.
+ Specifically, experience in the high net worth financial remedy claims and contested proceedings is essential.
+ High professional standards
+ Superlative client care skills.
+ Proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude
+ Possession and maintenance of a growth mindset, with a strong desire and openness to learn more.
+ Attention to detail and pride in presentation.
+ Positive, optimistic and hardworking.
+ Energetic and dynamic
+ A solid billing history.
+ Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
+ A good commercial awareness and being comfortable with numbers
+ Passion for business development
+ Flair for building and nurturing relationships
+ A team player and ‘people person’.
