1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant required in Clacton for an immediate start
The Strategy Education SEN team are looking for experienced teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 9 pupil who has Social Emotional and Mental Health issues (SEMH). The student is a looked after child who has gone through trauma and has attachment disorder and communication difficulties.
This is an ongoing contract with the possibility of permanency for the right candidate.
Assessing the individual needs of the pupil and following his EHCP's
Evaluating and reporting pupils' progress to teachers, carers and health care professionals
Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and calm way
The successful candidate will have some experience within:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD.
Social, Emotional and Mental Health - SEMH.
Looked after Children.
Have experience of working with SEN secondary aged students with challenging behaviour in a flexible way.
Have good communication skills and be able to see through the behaviour.
Experience of de-escalation techniques would be advantageous.
Ability to make lessons fun and engaging.
