Assistant Management Accountant is needed to join the team at Jamieson Contracting in Hyde, near Manchester. We are a highly accredited and award winning construction contractor that has built our success on being customer focused to form long term partnerships with clients in both public and private sectors.

We have enjoyed significant growth over the past 18 months and have secured a full order book through 2022 and into 2023. To help our financial team manage this growth we are looking to increase our financial team with a new Assistant Management Accountant to be based at our Hyde, Greater Manchester, head office.

The Role

We require a driven person to work under the Accounts Manager and with existing payroll and accounts payable team members. The successful candidate will ensure all staff (both weekly and monthly) are accurately input into our Construction Accounts Software, processed and paid on time.

Your main tasks will include:

* All Supplier and Subcontractor invoices will need to be signed off by the relevant authority and processed accurately to enable on time payments of accounts

* Production of reports and KPIs associated with the above tasks to be produced in a timely manner

* Development of the role and reports to aid Directors/Management Accountant in decision making

* General support to the Accounts Manager

* Staff records including Tax Codes, P45 information

* Timesheets to be analysed and signed off and Reconciliation of the Payroll accounts

* Subcontractors records to be managed and maintained within our construction software including relevant Insurance information

* Supplier records to be managed, maintained and new suppliers set up.

Key Requirements:

* Accounts/Finance experience (min. 3 years)

* Attention to detail

* Work as part of a team

* Strong IT skills (Excel and words)

* Ability to galvanise and manage staff with good interpersonal skills

* Organizational and time management skills

* Analyse information

* Data entry skills

* Confidentiality

* General Maths/English skills

* Reporting skills

* Knowledge of how retentions work would be a bonus

* Construction industry background would be beneficial
