Do you have a keen understanding of brand licensing and how the industry operates? Are you able to develop relationships, build networks and establish opportunities to make the most of an organisation's assets and brand? Do you have a commercial eye that would help you drive growth through GOSH Charity's retail programme? And are you excited by the thought of developing the strategy for this new area of fundraising for GOSH Charity? If the answers to most of these questions is yes, this could be exactly the role you were looking for.

This is a new position that will play a pivotal role in driving income from three main areas; a newly established brand licensing programme, the asset of Peter Pan, and our retail programme through the online GOSH Charity shop and sales of products within Great Ormond Street Hospital itself.

This is a chance to help forge and develop an exciting area of fundraising for the charity, building networks on a commercial basis to raise money towards the work of GOSH. The role sits within the Corporate Partnerships team in order to benefit from our corporate relationships and the expertise of the team but the work of this role will cut across several teams within the charity and indeed the hospital.

About the Team

The Corporate Partnerships team plays a vital role in supporting the charity, raising millions of pounds every year through the successful delivery of an impressive portfolio of corporate supporters.

The team has the benefit of a clear strategy, an inspiring cause, a fantastic charity brand, incredible networks and leverage through an active Corporate Partnerships Board, and a reputation for being one of the strongest corporate fundraising teams in the sector.

As mentioned previously, this role will be based within Corporate Partnerships but work closely with several teams across the charity including Brand, Governance and Communications.

About You

You'll be an experienced candidate with a strong understanding of brand licensing and where opportunities may lie. In addition, you'll have either commercial or new business skills, with an ability to persuade and negotiate agreements and deals. Alongside this, you will be able to understand the crossover being different areas of potential income, which in this role will include our Peter Pan asset and our GOSH retail programme. The ideal candidate will be able to showcase in particular:

An ability to establish a brand licensing programme, understanding how to commercialise the charity's brand assets, including Peter Pan and other illustrations, photography and archive materials
Experience of securing new opportunities through excellent relationship building skills and the capability to influence & persuade key external individuals and organisations
A creative and proactive mindset to compliment commercial judgement
An ability to negotiate and navigate complex discussions
An ability to inspire and support a line report in delivering growth and income from their area of work

About the Charity

And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children - and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Without donations, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity can't help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Our staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.

Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We recognise that people from some backgrounds are under-represented in our workforce and across the wider Charity sector. In April 2021 we launched our ambitious three-year EDI strategy committing to becoming a more inclusive workforce, reflecting the diverse communities that we work with and for and demonstrating this through all our areas of work.

A more diverse workforce will enable us to deliver even more impact and we particularly encourage applications from communities which are under-represented in the charity. This includes people from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority backgrounds, people with a disability, people who are LGBT+ or who are from less advantaged socioeconomic groups.

Further information on our EDI strategy can be found on our website.
