Assistant Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join a well known, growing business based in Malmesbury. £25,000 - £30,000 + study support and excellent benefits.

Client Details

Our client is based in Malmesbury and their Finance Department are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to support 2 Senior Accountants.

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for;

• Preparing and posting monthly accounting entries, including prepayments & accruals
• Accounting for rental income; raising rental invoices, updating rental income for lease /tenancy changes, tracking rent arrears and scheduling void costs
• Ensuring the integrity of the financial numbers including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and other month end schedules
• Preparing accounts analysis to support VAT and Corporation tax returns
• Preparing monthly management accounts in accordance with agreed policies and procedures including commentary and analysis against budget for certain smaller entities
• Preparing the statutory financial statements for certain smaller entities
• Support the preparation of budget and cashflow forecast information as required
• Support and provide cover as required for accounts payable tasks including processing and payment requirements
• Support the Group Financial Controller and Senior Accountants with other ad hoc tasks as required

Profile

The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified and have a track record in a similar role.

A salary of between £25,000 and £30,000 is on offer to the successful candidate as well as study support towards a professional accountancy qualification.
