Primary Objective:

The firm is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of all our people, comprised of five key pillars: Mental, Physical, Financial, Social and Occupational. This role's scope is the Occupational pillar, focusing on the physical environments where our people work including the office, at home or elsewhere. The role's key objectives are:

•Ensuring our work environments and practices support the safety and wellbeing of our people, both in the office and at home

•Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Executive (or equivalent), legislative requirements and Firm standards across our global network.

•Develop company specific OH&S policies and procedures and implement and monitor adherence across the global network

Key responsibilities:

•Formulating company specific Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures

•Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming health and safety legislation and ensure that systems and procedures are in place to meet legal compliance and other requirements

•Supervision of the H&S adviser with responsibility for providing direction and support, and overseeing their development, performance management, and career progression

•Act as a global lead and central coordination point for occupational health & safety activity

•Accountable for rolling out firm-wide environmental and health & safety initiatives.

•Promote safe working practices both in the office and at home and be a "trusted advisor" for this subject

•Work proactively with office managers and other key staff across the global network to:


* establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health, safety and wellbeing within their areas of responsibility

* ensure compliance with all company and legislative health and safety requirements

* provide direction, guidance and support

•Conduct and track display screen equipment (DSE) and homeworkers / workstation ergonomics risk assessments and monitor for any trends

•Carry out inspections and risk assessments and undertake accident/incident investigations, ensuring relevant corrective action is taken

•Develop and maintain a rigorous risk assessment programme across the global network

•Develop and co-ordinate a health & safety, environmental and fire audits programme across the network

•Assist in designing, measuring and delivering on OH&S goals and objectives

•Work alongside the Corporate Real Estate Team and advising on CDM regulations and ensuring compliance for office Fit out Works

•Oversee and undertake audits where appropriate and ensure an action plan with SMART objectives is established to address issues identified

•Identify, deliver and/or procure an effective health and safety related training regime to include regular first aid and emergency warden training

•Work with HR to identify and manage health issues as they arise to ensure that our employees are not subjected to unnecessary risks

•Work alongside the Travel team to ensure the safety of our people when working offsite for business travel

•Responsible for the maintenance and management of systems and central records and for providing regular reporting to key stakeholders

•Responsibility for setting and managing the London Health & Safety budget

•Organising and chairing of the quarterly London health and safety committee meetings

•Comply with Risk Management obligations and responsibilities in accordance with the requirements for this role as set out on the intranet.

•Recognised as a "trusted advisor" and a subject matter expert in Health and Safety across the HSF global network

•An established health and safety global audit programme that tracks and monitors compliance to company and legislative requirements

•Rigorous risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed across the firm

•Timely delivery of health and safety action plans, reporting and operational programmes

•Regional Operations Managers/Office Managers;

•HR managers

•Emergency wardens, First aiders

•Travel leads

•Senior Business Services Leaders

Qualifications, skills and experience:

•Qualifications to include NEBOSH and IOSH (or equivalent)

•Proven experience of working in a health and safety role at a similar level and bringing about culture change within an organisation

•A comprehensive knowledge of current health and safety legislation, management and standards

•Ability to interpret and provide authoritative advice on health and safety and risk management issues

•Experience in training, coaching and mentoring to develop health and safety knowledge and expertise

•Demonstrated ability to engage with, lead and influence key stakeholders at all levels.

•Strong organisational, planning, prioritising and execution skills.

•Proven ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

•Excellent written and verbal skills, along with demonstrated presentation skills
