This role could suit an individual looking for their first step out of practice or someone looking for a new financial control role.

As part of the overall Financial Control team for the Deloitte LLP group of entities, this role is critical in minimising financial risk through managing balance sheet reconciliations across the group.

Your role

  • Reporting into the Balance Sheet Reporting & Control Manager, you will support the team in the delivery of Balance Sheet management for the Deloitte LLP group of entities.
  • Financial control of balance sheet accounts, providing insightful commentary and analysis
  • Management of outsourced team including balance sheet processing activity and approval of reconciliations
  • Support the month end financial close process including reviewing associated journals
  • Management and control of reconciliation template process
  • BlackLine local administration and reporting
  • Support the external audit process by managing collation and challenge of appropriate audit evidence
  • Documentation of processes and controls including driving improvements
  • Work in a diverse team within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Location: Your home office will be Milton Keynes, though hybrid working arrangements are in place allowing some remote working. Occasional domestic travel may be required.

Work pattern: This is a full time, permanent role. However, we are open to discussing agile and flexible working arrangements in line with business need.

Your professional experience

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience of balance sheet reconciliations, reporting and financial control
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with all levels across the business
  • Ability to manage others and delegate work effectively as well as being able to work on own initiative
  • Liaison with external auditors and management of supporting evidence and responses
  • Positive can-do approach, with a passion for personal development and improvement
  • Experience with core Microsoft Office packages with advanced Microsoft Excel skills being an advantage
  • Working knowledge of SAP and BlackLine would be an advantage
  • Experience of working in a professional services organisation is preferred but not essential
