Location: Hybrid Home \ Office - Within commuting distance of Edinburgh or Bristol

Computershare are currently recruiting for a permanent Development Release Manager with a proven track record in a large-scale enterprise software development environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic, focused, strategically thinking Technology Professional to join our Software Development Group in our Edinburgh or Bristol based technology centres. We are committed to offering flexible working and therefore whilst there will be the requirement to visit the office occasionally, remote working is available for a proportion of the working week, but you must be within a reasonable commuting distance of our Edinburgh or Bristol offices.

Computershare recently acquired a leading European employee share plan business with an innovative range of client solutions. This role will be working closely with internal and development partners to improve standardise release processes & tools, harmonise release cycles, provide governance, control and stability in our environments through robust deployment strategies. Be the key link between development and the wider Global Service Management team to ensure smooth transition into production and the support organisation for this global platform.

A role you will love

This is a key role in the wider development team who are responsible for the coordinating and control of the release work elements which includes: release planning & execution of release activities, setting release calendars, completion of release artefacts & training for users (for example release notes), signoff of release artefacts, installation and release of new software, management of system configuration tasks and ensuring support of live software releases.

The successful candidate will also ensure control and that the appropriate communication has been delivered to all stakeholders in relation to all aspects of the release.

What will you bring to the role?

It is essential that the successful candidate has experience in release management in a large scale software development environment. As this is a global team, flexibility is required to accommodate interaction between colleagues across the globe, in different time zones.

Other essential skills and experience include;
  • Significant level of experience working in an Agile and Waterfall Software Development environments
  • Deep level of knowledge, understanding and highly experienced in the supporting development teams and projects to successfully deliver
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective long lasting relationships as well as effectively manage key stakeholders including at senior executive level. Has the gravitas to effectively communicate, influence and challenge stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of Release management methodologies and Life-cycles and the associated tools

Whilst it is advantageous to have worked within a financial services environment previously, this is not essential.
