Quality Inspector - Bristol

Due to continued growth we are seeking a Quality Inspector to join a family owned engineering company, evaluating aero engine components to tight tolerances, often using old hand drawn customer drawings.

Candidate Responsibilities

Ensure no product non-conformity escapes to customers

Accurate and appropriate measurement of product features to determine conformance/non-conformance to drawing/model

Defining appropriate measurement strategies, ensuring alignment to tolerance requirements for first-off, in-process and end of line product validation activities (excl. special processes) including Process Control Plan development, approval and maintenance

Improvement of the inspection processes to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness

Planning and implementation of appropriate MSA studies

Adheres to the requirements of the company Health & Safety Policies & Management System

Candidate Duties

Conducting inspection processes to meet Customer & internal requirements

Programming of PDMIS/ MCOSMOS/Aberlink CNC CMM's using 3D models and/or 2D drawings

Conducting measurements of products/ tooling and fixtures as required

Reporting measurement outputs including for PPAP/FAIR and improvement activities

Use of data to determine calibration methods and frequencies

Calibration of measurement devices traceable to national standards

Responsible for general housekeeping within their area

Skills and Experience

A wide knowledge and experience of application of manual and CNC CMM etc inspection skillsets:

Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Working within an AS/EN 9100 compliant QMS workplace

Ability to use Microsoft Office365 packages - Word, Excel, Teams etc.

Recognised apprenticeship and or relevant engineering background

Evidence of Background in Aerospace tier 1, 2 or 3 environments

Motivated individual, capable of using initiative and being a team player

Flexible and open to learn, give and receive feedback to improve & grow.

Salary: £23-28K per year

Hours Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4pm, Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm
