Communications Manager required to join a fantastic Biotechnology company in London who are looking to advance the growth of the UK cell and gene therapy industry by bridging the gap between scientific research and full scale commercialization.
This is an opportunity for the Communications Manager to join their Marketing and Communications team and to work across the different functions to support the writing and release of external and internal communications as well as strategy reports and marketing material. This candidate will have line management responsibilities and will be involved with high visibility and high impact projects and provided with the opportunity to further develop their communication skills across multiple stakeholders. This role will help drive the business forward to ensure continuous funding by Government and industry backing through the development of meaningful and relevant content.
The Communications Manager will rapidly pick up strategy, messaging and positioning and analyse data. The successful candidate will be able to convene information in a simple and impactful way, have high attention to detail, work well collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and adapt its communication style to different audiences. Brilliant communication, organisational and people skills are a must for this motivated individual who wants to be part of shaping the UK cell and gene therapy industry.
On offer is a highly competitive salary and benefits package which can be disclosed upon application. The role has the option to work remotely 2-3 days a week.
The role also includes specific responsibilities which include but are not limited to the below activities:
Create and manage marketing lists for newsletters
Working together with the senior digital marketing executive to:
Manage the generation and delivery of monthly stakeholder newsletter together with the digital marketing executive
Analysis of newsletter analytics to measure performance and support continual improvement
Assisting with the production of marketing materials and literature including:
Events banners and supporting material
Assisting with the collation of information for promotional literature
Updating and maintaining the marketing department's documentation and databases
Support the drafting, sign off and publication of press releases
Work with PR agency to deliver thought-leadership pieces throughout the year
Generate regular digital content to communicate key messages to different stakeholders across all channels including:
Required background for the Communications Manager
Education to at least degree level standard in a scientific subject is essential
At least 4 years' experience in a communications role in biotech or healthcare industry
Previous experience in the cell and gene therapy industry would be advantageous
Have demonstrable copywriting ability and experience within a technical subject
Proven experience in writing press and news content
Proven experience in writing reports and presenting data
Proven experience of creating scientific and impact driven presentations
Have demonstrable experience of working in a communications role where you have had to deal with creating cross platform communications as well as working with a press office
Proven effective project management skills
Proven marketing and communications campaign management
Demonstratable experience of tailoring messaging to different stakeholders
Proven experience of working in fast-paced environment
Proven experience of working in biotech or healthcare industry preferably cell and gene therapy
Line management experience preferable but not essential
