Engineering Shift Manager
£49,000 to £56,000 plus Benefits
A food manufacturing company are looking for a Engineering Shift Manager to join the engineering department. You'll be responsible for leading and managing the day to day running of the Engineering Shift in order to support all activities on site by assessing all aspects of maintenance. You will have previous experience leading a Engineering team within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
As a Engineering Shift Manager your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.
Lead and manage a Shift of Engineers and Apprentices, including recording all necessary administrative requirements on the internal maintenance system.
Responsible for on-shift Engineering performance of fast-moving production line and wider factory Engineering activities.
Assessing all aspects of maintenance procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Understanding of engineering and operational KPI's and be able to identify areas for improvement.
To ensure equipment is set up ready for shift start, performs at required output and ensure lines are shut down correctly.
Must be familiar with process machinery or equivalent equipment and have the ability to fault find.
Working closely with the Engineering Stores, Engineering Planner and Engineering Operations Manager to cover all aspects of engineering.
Maintain the Workshop and outside areas to high standard, ensuring regular checks are conducted and satisfactory feedback is received from GMP audits.
Identify the training needs of the Shift in order to coach, train and develop the team to provide the opportunities to develop to their potential.
Conduct 121s, agree Personal Development Plans and formally record meetings.
Issuing of permits for Contractors & management while on-site.
An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Shift Manager with the following.
HNC certification or Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
Experienced working within a fast paced manufacturing environment with experience in leading a engineering shift.
NEBOSH or IOSH qualified with strong understanding of Health & Safety.
Understanding of PLC's, Pneumatics and refrigeration experience
Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
