£27,000 - £30,000

The Burford Recruitment Company are working with an established not for profit company who due to continued growth are seeking a Workshop Manager. This role is responsible for managing an engineering laboratory environment to provide a safe and efficient environment to deliver projects. If you have a strong Health and Safety background and people management skills then this role could be for you!

As a Workshop Manager you will:

* Ensure that the laboratory is a safe working environment complying with relevant legislation

* Carry out regular risk assessments and implement remedial actions where required

* Be responsible for the day-to-day workshop management of the Laboratory. This includes management of all the site, equipment and services that are in place to allow the testing work to go on

* Maintain buildings, regular checks infrastructure conditioning chambers, Labs test rooms and storage areas as well as all supplied services, water, drainage electric etc. Keeping the infrastructure in good order and able to support the testing work in the laboratory

* Review and monitor systems, and practices to ensure they are up to date and delivering high quality services

* Be involved with the development and compliance with internal management systems, including: Quality Management Systems, Laboratory operations manual, Laboratory environmental policies, Health & Safety policy and procedures

We are looking for someone with a strong background in workshop organisation and management in a high-risk environment. You'll need to have experience of managing staff and external contractors with a good understanding of Health and Safety. Ideally qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be ideal but formal training will be provided.
