SEN Teaching Assistant
A Primary special school in Blackburn are looking for an expereinced Teaching Assistant to work with an SEN pupil full time until the end of the academic year. This school is a specialist learning environment for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties including moderate and severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism. This position is full time Monday - Friday 8:45am - 3:15pm until the end of the academic year with a view to going permenant.
About the Role
Support for Pupils - To meet the needs of pupil(s) individual needs.
- To assist with movement around the school environment and during school activities.
- To assist in the development of independent social skills.
- To assist in the proper use of specialist aids and equipment.
- To assist in the supervision of set tasks and integrated therapy for an individual/small group of pupils.
- To administer basic first aid where appropriately trained.
- To assist in the specific medical/care needs of pupils when specific training
Ability to relate well to children
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to organise classroom resources
Good strong communication skills
Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality Basic knowledge of First Aid
