Refresco, the world's leading independent soft drinks manufacturer, seeks an experienced, qualified Factory Engineering Manager to lead the factory engineering team to improve factory equipment and performance efficiencies and reduce operational costs at our state of the art, highly automated site in Bridgwater, Somerset. Refresco Bridgwater has significant £multi-million spend planned over the next 3 years and this is a pivotal role to help us achieve our ambitious goals.

About the role
As Factory Engineering Manager you will report to the Factory Manager to identify long term, chronic repeat issues and eliminate root causes of breakdowns and speed loss. You will manage a team of Asset Care Engineers, specific to your factory, and deliver the KPIs identified in the 3-year business plan. You will also provide key performance reports to the Engineering and Manufacturing management teams.
You will be a confident and people-oriented leader, inspiring those around you with your can-do attitude and excellent communication skills. You main deliverables are:
* Ownership of all Factory Engineering KPI's.
* Optimise frequency and duration of planned maintenance activities, ensuring appropriate service frequency levels.
* Provide coaching in continuous improvement tools and techniques to your team of Asset Care Managers plus members of the operational teams.
* Demonstrate a correlation between the planned asset care system effectiveness and line performance, showing value for money.
* Provide top level information and analysis on all operational areas affecting line performance.
* Develop close working relationships with our OEM's to deliver a balanced OEM scorecard.
* Minimise both planned and unplanned stoppages, to maximise machine up-time.
* Manage the Factory Engineering spend against budget and support the central engineering purchasing team by offering expert advice.

About you
You will have formal engineering qualifications (degree, HND or apprenticeship routes) and a number of years' experience in an engineering management role covering planned maintenance, continuous improvement and team management & development, ideally in Food & Drinks Production, other FMCG or Pharmaceuticals. You are considered by your team and colleagues to be approachable and transparent with a mature, collaborative situational leadership style, passionate about what you do with a proactive approach to tasks, issues and any barriers you may encounter.
