Supporting the business through specialist procurement and contract advice adhering to Public Contracts Regulations where appropriate. Responsible for a specialist area of work and may be required to provide assistance to other areas of the team from time to time to ensure support to the business is available at all times.

Description

Providing expert procurement advice and guidance to enable adherence to the Public Contracts Regulations, compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks and manage risk in all Project/Programme related spend
Providing end to end strategic supply chain advice and guidance
Manage the relationship with the business units to ensure short and long term value is delivered through the formulation, implementation and development of strategies to achieve functional and business objectives and deliver targeted savings
Represent Procurement at meetings and monthly business reviews with your clients ensuring effective communication and alignment between key stakeholders and procurement/finance
Own, develop and implement plans/strategies which are aligned with functional and business unit priorities ensuring delivery of value for money (financial and non-financial)
Promote sustainable procurement practices and social value; ensure they are adopted and embedded wherever possible
Monitor trends, risks and opportunities in the market and develop plans and make recommendations to key stakeholders
Stay up to date with developments in your specialist area and deliver regular training and internal communications to key stakeholders and external suppliers as may be required
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers and be recognised as a "trusted partner"
Identify and highlight risks and their mitigation measures in all your procurement activity
Adhere to Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, Governance Framework and all other relevant policies and procedures that may be involved in the procurement process
Stay up to date with developments in your specialist area and deliver regular training and internal communications to key stakeholders and external suppliers as may be required
Ensure you communicate with the Head of Procurement on any updates that may be needed to policies and procedures, procurement Intranet, training materials, templates and any other documents used in the procurementProfile

Educated to a degree level or equivalent in Procurement, Finance of Business desirable
MCIPS or equivalent essential
Knowledge of commercial/contract law and terms and conditions of Contract is essential
Proficiency of e-tendering/e-contracting systems essentialJob Offer
