A rare and exciting opportunity for an Operations Director has arisen at this high profile training provider in the heart of Coventry. The business is a leading provider of vocational training and development including apprenticeships. We are looking for an experienced individual who will be responsible for providing outstanding leadership and management, direction and inspiration.
The Operations Director will create a working environment which encourages teamwork, energy and creativity to design and deliver vocational training solutions which meet the needs of individuals and business. The individual is going to need experience in the education and training sector. Emphasis for this role will be placed on an individual's interest and expertise in managing contracts, leadership and quality assurance.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is regarded as the No.2 in the organisation and will eventually be part of a succession plan.
Responsibilities of the Operations Director:
Manage and motivate a team to deliver outstanding teaching and learning
Manage workloads and support team members in achieving organisational targets
Allocate and manage resources effectively and efficiently
Disseminate information and manage change
Undertake staff appraisals, implement improvement strategies, identify staff training needs and share best practice
Identify personnel requirements, recruit and induct staff
Undertake regular team meetings to share information and ideasCommercial:
Contribute to strategic planning, identifying opportunities for business growth
Ensure financial targets and other agreed targets are met across the business
Implement contracts, identifying resource requirements, potential opportunities and risks
Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures
Manage financial resources to meet organisational plans
Identify and develop new business opportunities
Write tenders and proposals, negotiate contracts
Build alliances and partnerships with other organisations
Oversee the marketing and promotion of a portfolio of servicesOperations:
Manage contract delivery, resource allocation, establish KPIs and monitor performance
Oversee quality assurance, including self-assessment and quality improvement planning
Manage facilities and physical resources
Problem solve and trouble shoot
Advise on strategies to improve success rates and standards
Deliver robust observation of teaching and learning
High level awareness of local and national developments in the skills sector
Liaise with external stakeholders to develop the portfolio of services
Ensure effective communications internally and externally
