Teaching Assistants - Trauma & Attachment

Croydon

ASAP Start

Timeplan Education are currently supporting an independent SEN school in Croydon. They support children and young adults aged 5 - 19 with an EHCP for Autism, SEMH and associated complex needs. They are currently recruiting several experienced Teaching Assistants to work full time, via the agency.

The selected applicants will have previous experience with Autism, Behavioural and mental health difficulties. As well as supporting students on a 1:1 basis you will also be required to support whole classes with all subjects. Some students may struggle within the classroom, therefore, under the direction of the class teacher you will be required to support students 1:1 academically in isolation. Many of the students are disengaged, therefore you will need to be resilient and calm, preparing to put in the time required to build relationships with the students you support. Ideally you will have valid Team Teach or MAPA training.

The school is very therapeutic in its approach, working closely with therapists, families, and outside agencies to support students to overcome their mental health difficulties, while working to gain the best academic outcome.

For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS if your current DBS is not on the update service.

Timeplan is a committed Equal Opportunities Employer and therefore will not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation.

If you are looking for a rewarding role in SEND and want to make difference, we want to hear from you! Please submit your CV today or you can contact Keizsha Armstrong on (phone number removed) or via email
